Allen Gustin and Edward Trombley have devoted nearly 25 years to the art of breeding, raising and showing gorgeous, healthy and affectionate Birman cats. Bel Canto Birman Cattery was established in 1988 after we were taken by the enchanting beauty and personality of the Birman Cat Breed, and we currently share our home with several Birman cats. We are proud members in good standing of CFA and TICA.
We have prided ourselves on both the quality of our Birman kittens and the quality of the homes into which they are placed. We were very selective in our breeding practices, producing just one or two very special litters each year. We strived to produce Birman kittens which exemplify the Birman breed standard in appearance, health and temperament - and were always working to improve upon purr-fection. Our kittens were lovingly raised right in our home where they are given plenty of love, human attention and gentle handling from the time they are born to the time they are placed with their new owners. Our Birman kittens were very well-socialized and made wonderful pets. We suggest you seek breeders who similarly work to improve the breed, produce limited numbers of litters, and socialize their kittens in their home.

We have been very careful to ensure that our Birman cats are healthy and free from feline disorders. When meeting with breeders, ask if their breeding cats are examined and vaccinated by their veterinarian, including testing for Feline Leukemia. Kittens should be vet-checked and vaccinated before being placed with their new owners, and come with a veterinary health certificate and health guarantee. We required that all pet-quality kittens be spayed or neutered at the appropriate age to prevent irresponsible breeding practices and to help reduce the growing number of unwanted cats in animal shelters throughout the country.
As conscientious Birman cat breeders, we have always been very concerned about the health, happiness and welfare of our babies. Potential kitten owners should have the knowledge, time, ability, facilities and resources to provide the care that a kitten needs to live a long, happy and healthy life. This includes the ability to provide proper food and regular veterinary care, in addition to being able to spend a reasonable amount of personalized time with the kitten each day. Responsible breeders are happy to provide any support and advice that may be needed by new owners in adjusting to life with their new family member, and enjoy hearing updates about thier kittens and their new families.
We know you have many choices when it comes to choosing Birman cat breeders. We hope that our information and pictures have been enjoyable, and hope to hear from you about our Birman kittens for sale.
